We're building the future of equitible medical intelligence.
We are looking for engineers obsessed with efficiency. At Nair Engineering, we aren't training massive models on cloud clusters. We are taking state-of-the-art medical intelligence and compressing it into a consumer device.
You will work on the bleeding edge of quantization, sparsity, and speculative decoding. Your code will run on the NPU, GPU, and CPU of mobile devices, delivering life-saving insights with 0ms latency and 100% privacy.
You don't need a PhD (though we like them). You need to have strong experience with building your own langauge models and a willingness to learn our own Swift/Metal based workflow. It is preferred that you understand healthcare workflows. Patient care is the point of this project, our language models will be ineffective without an understanding of this.
This isn't building a weather app in SwiftUI. This is building experimental frontier models that save lives. Swift/Metal has little documentation when it comes to machine learning, you will need to learn fast. You will need to decode raw Pytorch code and learn to translate it into Swift/Metal. This is hard. We don't expect to even fill this role.
Vivral will only get more complex with time... You will be managing Vivral's internal architecture under the strict "no internet" rule. This isn't a wrapper.
You understand efficient memory allocation and are willing to do some damage control.
We don't do vibecoded websites. We want something unique, experimental, and reminiscent of the future the 80s dreamt of.
I (Ak) thought of Vivral in Epcot, Disney (specifically Spaceship Earth). Retrofuturism represents what our parents (or grandparents idk how old you are) imagined the future to be: it's time that
we make it a reality. Your designs will be completely original yet drawing some inspiration from classic retrofuturistic art (think Epcot, Back to the Future, Blade Runner, etc).
You must be able to draw or paint, this is a hard must. You must also have some experience with digital art.
